ESG Development in Mexican Commercial Services Supplies and Energy update

This week, we come back to our ESG Development Heatmaps updates, focusing this time on the Mexican Commercial Services Supplies and Energy sectors. As we have always done, we focused only on (1) companies listed on the Mexican stock exchanges and (2) the materials publicly disclosed by those companies.

What can we read from these heatmaps?

  • In the Commercial Services and Supplies sector, everything remained unchanged.
  • In the Energy sector, Cox Energy published its first materiality analysis. With this, both listed companies in this sector now have a recent materiality analysis.

As we can see, the Energy and Commercial Services and Supplies sectors in Mexico showed very limited progress this year. Although awareness of sustainability in the market is increasing, the adoption of concrete practices remains slow and inconsistent. We expect that next year, with the introduction of ISSB reporting in the market, these companies will take more decisive steps.

I hope you found this interesting. As usual, if there is anything we can help you with, or if there is an ESG topic you would like to know more about, please let us know.

Best,

Marimar
