ESG Development in Mexican Banks update

This week, we come back to our ESG Development Heatmaps updates, focusing this time on the Mexican Banks sector. As we have always done, we focused only on (1) companies listed on the Mexican stock exchanges and (2) the materials publicly disclosed by those companies.

What can we read from this heatmap?

  • Actinver aligned with TCFD and CDP for the first time.

Progress across the Banking sector during this reporting cycle was limited. Institutions that have not yet meaningfully engaged with ESG topics showed no material change in their disclosures or practices. Likewise, banks that had already taken initial steps in prior periods generally maintained their existing level of maturity, with few demonstrating clear advances in scope, depth, or integration.

I hope you found this interesting. As usual, if there is anything we can help you with, or if there is an ESG topic you would like to know more about, please let us know.

Best,

Marimar
