El reporte completo es de 3675 p\u00e1ginas y el IPCC publica un resumen ejecutivo de 37 p\u00e1ginas, pero el mensaje central no es algo nuevo: los peligros del cambio clim\u00e1tico han crecido tanto que pronto podr\u00edan sobrepasar la habilidad de tanto la naturaleza como la humanidad de adaptarse, a menos que las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero se reduzcan r\u00e1pidamente.<\/p><p>Aqu\u00ed compartimos algunos enunciados que creemos que vale la pena leer incluso si no tienes tiempo de leer el resumen ejecutivo:<\/p><ul><li>\u201cThis report has a strong focus on the interactions among the coupled systems climate, ecosystems (including their biodiversity), and human society. These interactions are the basis of emerging risks from climate change, ecosystem degradation and biodiversity loss and, at the same time, offer opportunities for the future.\u201d<\/li><li>\u201cThis report identifies 127 key risks. Multiple climate hazards will occur simultaneously, and multiple climatic and non-climatic risks will interact, resulting in compounding overall risk and risks cascading across sectors and regions.\u201d<\/li><li>\u201cSoft limits to some human adaptation have been reached, but can be overcome by addressing a range of constraints, primarily financial, governance, institutional and policy constraints.\u201d<\/li><li>\u201c\u2026climate resilient development prospects are increasingly limited if current greenhouse gas emissions do not rapidly decline, especially if 1.5\u00b0C global warming is exceeded in the near term.\u201d<\/li><\/ul><p>Y si la narrativa no es suficientemente convincente para ti, recomendamos tambi\u00e9n este art\u00edculo de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-03-01\/ipcc-climate-report-by-the-numbers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg<\/a> relacionado, en donde los n\u00fameros hablan por si mismos. Aqu\u00ed algunos ejemplos:<\/p><ul><li>Hasta 3,600 millones de personas en el mundo son altamente vulnerables al cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/li><li>La tierra urbana expuesta a inundaciones o sequ\u00edas est\u00e1 proyectado que crecer\u00e1 por un m\u00faltiplo de 4 o 5 veces entre el a\u00f1o 2000 y 2030.<\/li><li>420 millones de hect\u00e1reas de bosque se han perdido a nivel global entre 1990 y 2020.<\/li><li>99% del coral en el mundo se perder\u00e1 si las temperaturas suben m\u00e1s de 2\u00b0C.<\/li><li>Se esperan hasta US$128 mil millones de p\u00e9rdidas y adaptaci\u00f3n en cosechas si las temperaturas suben 3\u00b0C.<\/li><\/ul><p>Claramente la situaci\u00f3n suena bastante complicada, incluso si el reporte no se perciba como algo totalmente novedoso (ya que mucha gente siente que ha escuchado mucho sobre cambio clim\u00e1tico ya). Como hemos dicho en el pasado cuando hablamos de cambio clim\u00e1tico, si no actuamos pronto, ser\u00e1 demasiado tarde para empezar a poner atenci\u00f3n. Las empresas tienen un papel muy importante para jugar aqu\u00ed dado el impacto potencial que pueden tener sobre el desarrollo de este tema en el mundo. As\u00ed es que, si no han pensado todav\u00eda en su exposici\u00f3n al cambio clim\u00e1tico, realmente sugerimos que empiecen a hacerlo pronto.<\/p><p class=\"x_paragraph\"><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">Espero que esto te haya parecido interesante.
