Puedes encontrar el art\u00edculo completo\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hbr.org\/2022\/02\/does-your-company-need-a-chief-esg-officer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"0\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">aqu\u00ed<\/span><\/a><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">, pero a continuaci\u00f3n compartimos lo que creemos que son los puntos m\u00e1s destacados.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"x_eop\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"x_paragraph\"><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">La posici\u00f3n de Director de ESG (o <i>Chief ESG <\/i><\/span><\/span><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"><i><span lang=\"ES\">O<\/span><\/i><\/span><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"><i><span lang=\"ES-MX\">fficer<\/span><\/i><\/span><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">, o como sea que cualquier empresa lo llame) es a\u00fan relativamente nueva y poco com\u00fan en el mercado mexicano. Si consideramos a las empresas que forman parte del IPC de la BMV, s\u00f3lo el 54% de ellas tiene una persona dedicada plenamente a ESG (algunas de las que no lo tienen pueden tener personas a cargo de algunos temas espec\u00edficos dentro del mundo ESG, como por ejemplo en impacto ambiental, pero no un jefe de los 3 pilares). Si miramos m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del IPC, el n\u00famero ser\u00eda mucho menor. <\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"x_paragraph\"><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">Tambi\u00e9n, la descripci\u00f3n del puesto de trabajo de un responsable de ESG cambia significativamente de una empresa a otra (a veces vemos personas muy centradas en temas medioambientales, por ejemplo, pero que tienen poca comunicaci\u00f3n con los directores generales en temas de gobernanza). Creemos que esto demuestra que las empresas todav\u00eda est\u00e1n definiendo lo que realmente significa tener a alguien en este puesto (e incluso si necesitan a alguien para ello).\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"x_eop\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"x_paragraph\"><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">El art\u00edculo de HBR, tras analizar los equipos de direcci\u00f3n de empresas p\u00fablicas estadounidenses en 2020 y 2021, propone tres preguntas (descritas a continuaci\u00f3n) que los directores generales y los consejos de administraci\u00f3n deber\u00edan plantearse antes de crear este puesto. Creemos que las preguntas son bastante \u00fatiles para las organizaciones que est\u00e1n tratando de entender esto:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"x_eop\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"x_eop\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><ul><li class=\"x_paragraph\"><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"><b>Do your stakeholders care about ESG?<\/b><\/span><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"> \u201c&#8230; [A]\u202f<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nielseniq.com\/global\/en\/insights\/analysis\/2018\/was-2018-the-year-of-the-influential-sustainable-consumer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"1\"><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\">survey<\/span><\/a><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\">\u202fconducted by Nielsen in 2019 found that 48% of consumers cared about ESG. This number increased to 83% among millennials. According to a\u202f<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hbr.org\/2018\/11\/9-out-of-10-people-are-willing-to-earn-less-money-to-do-more-meaningful-work\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"2\"><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\">survey<\/span><\/a><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\">\u202freported in the Harvard Business Review, 9 out of 10 employees said that they would trade a portion of their life\u2019s earnings for greater meaning at work\u2026 Appointing a chief ESG officer signals to stakeholders that your company takes ESG issues seriously\u2026\u202fHence, if ESG is particularly relevant to your company\u2019s stakeholders, it may be worth appointing a chief ESG officer to ensure that ESG issues receive sufficient attention and influence.\u201d<\/span><\/li><li class=\"x_paragraph\"><b>What role does ESG play in your strategy? <\/b><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\">\u201c\u2026Our analysis reveals that chief ESG officers are present in companies that make concerted efforts to incorporate ESG into their strategy\u2026 When a company\u2019s strategy needs to be built around a certain function or element, research demonstrates that including a C-level executive with the corresponding knowledge and responsibility in strategy formation is the best way to do it\u2026\u202f[If] ESG is becoming an integral element of your company\u2019s strategy, it\u2019s time to think about appointing a Chief ESG Officer to inform strategy development and execution.\u201d<\/span><\/li><li class=\"x_paragraph\"><b>Would a chief ESG officer be complementary?<\/b><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"> Companies need to ensure that \u201cappointing one is adding value to the executive team. One of the biggest challenges of ESG is that it is so multifaceted and complex\u2026\u202fOur analysis of chief ESG officers uncovers that they focus on all aspects of ESG and, importantly, on balancing the sometimes-competing demands of the individual pillars\u2026 Hence, if your company is faced with complex ESG demands and the existing C-suite positions are not fulfilling your ESG needs, you may want to consider adding a chief ESG officer.\u201d<\/span><span class=\"x_eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p class=\"x_paragraph\"><span class=\"x_eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p class=\"x_paragraph\"><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">Una vez que los directores generales y los consejos de administraci\u00f3n hayan respondido y analizado estas tres preguntas, el art\u00edculo sugiere que el siguiente paso sea tener una definici\u00f3n detallada de las responsabilidades que debe tener el puesto. La investigaci\u00f3n de los autores indica que la coordinaci\u00f3n de los esfuerzos en materia de ESG en sus organizaciones, tanto horizontalmente entre los pilares y funciones de ESG, como verticalmente a trav\u00e9s de los niveles jer\u00e1rquicos hasta el CEO, es el principal prop\u00f3sito de un director de ESG.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"x_eop\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"x_eop\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"x_paragraph\"><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">La incorporaci\u00f3n de este cargo a una organizaci\u00f3n podr\u00eda dar lugar a que \u00e9sta se oriente m\u00e1s intr\u00ednsecamente hacia ESG, independientemente de su tama\u00f1o. Por supuesto, esto s\u00f3lo ocurrir\u00e1 si la persona recibe suficiente poder dentro de la organizaci\u00f3n para hacer el cambio. No creemos que todas las organizaciones necesiten ocupar este puesto inicialmente (a veces ESG puede ser encabezado por un puesto existente en el C-Suite). Lo que s\u00ed creemos es que cuando las estrategias ESG crecen y se hacen m\u00e1s visibles es probable que sea \u00fatil tener a alguien que supervise todo el panorama y coordine todos los esfuerzos (\u00a1y los datos!).\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"x_eop\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"x_paragraph\"><span class=\"x_eop\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"x_paragraph\"><span class=\"x_normaltextrun\"><span lang=\"ES-MX\">Espero que esto te haya parecido interesante.
